Was able to get an early reservation for a Saturday. We visited with another family who recommended the Coal Chute. Parking was easy. Park anywhere in front or side of what looked to be a converted house to restaurant. Service was good and attentive. We were seated in the front dining area and it was too noisy even at capacity. Food didn’t take as long as expected since we’re expecting to wait since that was what the other reviews stated. It was nice that they had a kids menu. The food was good. Fresh and hot. Only negatives were a fry burger probably due to being part buffalo and slightly on the pricey side for being in Roslyn. We did end up with a lot of fries since everything came with them. I did appreciate the option of show string fries and thick fries and being able to sub for salad, soup, or sweet potato fries. I’d recommend the thick fries. Overall, it was a nice meal with friends and service was always there when you needed.
Delicious food and enjoyable atmosphere with very pleasant and attentive staff. Great for people with dairy and gluten allergies including celiac. Highly recommend!
This is the best restaurant in Roslyn! Lots of cozy atmosphere, fantastic cocktails, delicious food and a lot of options to order from. Whether dining in, take-out, or Door Dash everything is very, very good. Big homemade proportions! I go on every visit.
Great spot for good eats with a locally-themed atmosphere. Small bar up front behind the decadent dessert counter. We stopped by twice in one day! First, to pick up dessert, which consisted of a peanut butter banana cheesecake, an oatmeal cookie sandwich with thick moist cookies full of yummy raisins and stuffed with cream cheese filling and also a Nutter Butter cookie sandwich in the shape of a peanut. Very much for the peanut butter lover! We returned for dinner just before 5 and got seated - it wasn't too busy even when we left at 5:30. Friendly staff and good food with some different than the norm options. I opted for the prime rib dip with steak fries. Fries were hot and crispy, and they gave plenty of au jus. The strawberry basil salad with mixed greens and cut strawberries, feta, cucumber, red onion, with chicken added was a great choice too.
We had the pleasure of having a beautiful birthday dinner for my daughter this week at the Coal Chute. The staff was warm, welcoming and really made her feel special. The food was absolutely incredible. What an absolute gem of an establishment. We will be back again when we’re in town! Shoot, we might even drive the 1.5 hours just to visit for an extra special meal. Thank you!
four of us in total, three of us had breakfast and one had lunch- all agreed every ounce of food was amazing. come to find out the ingredients are all locally sourced and fresh. I had the vegetarian skillet with two Overeasy eggs and sourdoughtoast – yummy! my wife got the eggs Florentine, which again was tremendous. Our friends got the breakfast burrito, which is huge and turkey club equally as good as our meals. The atmosphere was great and come to find out the indoor/outdoor seating that we were at was built on top of an actual coal shoot. this cute little place is loaded with details like reclaimed wood for the tables, tongue and groove planking on the ceilings and walls, mason jars that the ice water is served in, and even the smallest detail if you’re observant enough of the charcoal art piece that is a rendition of an actual photograph found on site of the coal miners. The service was great, kind, and friendly-juxtaposed to the political paraphernalia, adorning the outbuildings beyond the boundaries of the parking lot. overall, I highly recommend this place if you’re passing through Roslyn, they even have a gift shop with souvenirs and baked goods.
This is the best place with most delicious food. Prime rib dip and Ruben sandwich is to die for. I have never had such tasty food.
